Bill Booth Clark Hill Tournament Champ
Booths Repeat The Hill
The weekend's results were not staggering by any means, when twenty-six team participated in the weekend's activities. Fishing was fair at best during the two days. However, the club's results were right in line with other tournaments held over the period, including a BFL Regional that took 30 pounds to win with no one-day catch more than 13 pounds during the three-day event. The club caught and released 128 bass over the two days, totaling 178 pounds and averaging 1.39 per fish. The club saw some much better fish cross the scales on the final day, but fewer numbers. Sunday's creel was twenty percent lower than Saturday's, but Sunday's total weight was larger than Saturday's.
In superb DBC fashion, father and son team Bill & Bill Booth Senior made an excellent come-from-behind win to capture the Fall Season's two-day on Lake Clark Hill. The Clark Hill victory laid claim to the Booth's third DBC win in just their fourth season with the club. Their second win came just four months ago, when DBC finished its Spring Season on Clark Hill therefore, it was no real surprise. Most knew not to count them, especially after they sat in third place with only a three pound deficit Saturday. The pair of Bills solidified their win on Sunday with 4 fish weighing 10.43, anchored by the tournament's big bass pressing the scales at 5.39. This gave them a two-day total of 9 fish to weigh 16.65.
Congratulations Mr. & Mr. Booth as you continue to command the club's respect and by capturing another Clark Hill win!
Second place went to David McGrew and Bryan Phillips with their two-day total of 9 fish weighing 14.40. David and Bryan held the lead on day one, but noted they had no trouble catching fish Sunday just finding the keepers.
Mike Haddad and Joe Yurina took third place with 9 fish totaling 13.77.
Forth Place went to Michael and Brandon Thomas only 5 fish to total 11.50

Winning Techniques: There was no real pattern working during the weekend. Top teams reported catching fish on a hodgepodge baits. However one bait seem to stand out during the weekend and that was the old tried and true Chrome and Blue Rattle-Trap. Booth's reported catching lots of fish on trick worms including their big bass.
Looking Ahead: Next month DBC Treks back to Alabama for the second time this year to Lake Logan Martin on Sunday November 20th. This will be the fifth tournament of the Fall Season. The club with use the ramp facilities at Riverside. The week following Logan Martin, the club will end it's regular season on December 4th at lake chosen at November's meeting on 15th. The week of the final tournament DBC will hold its yearly org meeting on December 7th. Anglers interested in joining next Spring Season are encourage to contact us and participate in any of the up coming events.
