This
past weekend the Duluth Bass Club fished its Fall Two-Day on Eufaula with less
than spectacular results. Twenty-eight
teams participated, weighing a two-day total of 56 fish, 36 fish on Saturday
and only 20 on Sunday, as the bite digressed from Friday’s pre-fishing
efforts. No limits were caught
either day, less than 10 pounds won, and a little over 7 pounds received a
check, results more reflective of a slow single day outing.
Capturing
the Eufaula’s two-day was Gene Hacker and Bobby Lee
Anderson. Gene
and Bobby took the lead on Saturday with four fish weighing 8.32.
And Sunday their single keeper spot weighing 1.34 was good enough for
the win, for a two-day total of 9.66.
Gene and Bobby worked a pattern off the river ledges by slow rolling
spinners and cranking DD22’s, to cull through numerous small fish to find
14” keepers.

Grabbing
second place was Bryan Phillips and John Erdeogen with their two-day total of 9.20.
Bryan secured their position by capturing the tournament’s
big bass weighing 5.14, nailed on Saturday with a spinnerbait.
Marking
the return of Mike Haddad from his six month captivity in Panama City
Beach, he and Joe Yurina took home third with their two day total
of 9.16. Most
of their keepers came by fishing a black trick worm in isolated grass patches
very shallow. Joe
noted that one keeper did come off a Chug Bug.
And, he noted they had a few missed opportunities.
The
forth place position was taken by Buck Treadwell and Harvey
Reagin with 7.61.
Jay
Donohue
and Brain Music took fifth with 7.39.

Next month DBC heads to Lake Logan on Sunday, November 21st.
The meeting is Tuesday November 16 at Bass Pro Shops; team
registrations begin at 6:00 PM.
